How To Clean A Purdy Paint Brush

As high-quality paint brushes, Purdy brushes can be re-used over and over again if they are taken proper care of. Cleaning your brush depends on what brush it is and what type of paint you have used. A synthetic brush that has been used with a water-based paint can be washed using hot soapy water. Simply run the brush under a hot tap with some soapy water until the water runs clear. You can then dry your brush off and store it in a plastic bag to use next time. With a natural bristle brush that is used in oil-based paint, this must be cleaned using a solvent such as turps or white spirit. Pour some solvent into a container and work the brush around until the solvent does not darken anymore. Pour the solvent into another container and repeat the process until no more paint is left in the solvent. Dry your brush and put a lid on the container to leave for a few days. After this period, the paint will sink to the bottom and the solvent can be poured back into the container to use again.
